Vehicles damaged as villagers in southern Chinese town protest plans for incinerator
Eleven people taken away over incident in Chunwan in Guangdong province and order has been restored, official statement says

Villagers clashed with police during a stand-off over an incinerator project in a southern Chinese city on Saturday, according to a local government statement.
Authorities in Yangchun city in Guangdong province said no one was injured in the incident, although photos posted on social media indicate violence flared during the protest.
One picture shows a vehicle burning in the middle of a road; while another shows a police officer, apparently unconscious, being dragged by two men.
More than a hundred protesters were involved, the photos suggest, although some people posted comments online saying ten times as many people took part.
The incident occurred beside a cement factory in Chunwan town under Yangchun, a city of more than a million residents.
