Chinese woman who stood up to bully on Shanghai subway train praised as hero

A woman has won praise on social media in China after she stood up to a woman who forced another passenger out of her seat on a Shanghai subway train.

Video of the confrontation has gone viral on the internet, according to the Shanghai Morning Post.

The argument started during the rush hour on Wednesday morning after a woman with a bandaged hand demanded that a girl give up her seat, the newspaper said.

Before the girl stood up, the woman sat on the side of her legs and pushed her off the seat.

She also struck the girl with her hand.

A woman sitting in the centre of the seats then started arguing with the passenger and confronted her.
