Train in China forced to a halt twice after woman stands on the line taking photographs

A train had to stop twice in eastern China because a young woman stood on the track, ignoring warnings, to take photographs of a nearby tunnel, according to a newspaper report.

The girl was taking pictures of a tunnel in a forested area of Nanjing where couples often go to make wishes and photograph themselves under its leafy green arch, the Modern Express said.

The girl stayed on the rails and continued to take pictures as the goods train moved towards her and blew its whistle, photographer and train enthusiast Li Ziao said.

Other people moved away, but the woman stayed put and the train was forced to a halt, said Li, who was standing nearby.

The train started again after the girl left the track, but she got back on again and started taking more photos forcing it to a stop a second time, Li said.

Li posted pictures of the woman on his social media account.

Some internet users said the girl was risking her life, while others criticised Li for not stopping her.
