Young 'gangster' escape: Kidnapped Chinese boy, 13, hops to freedom using skills he learnt watching violent films

The child from a rural village in Sichuan province was grabbed while out walking on his own, but kept calm and escaped after being tied up and left in an abandoned building

The boy, identified only by his surname, Yi, from the rural village of Fuxin near the city of Deyang, in Sichuan province, was kidnapped while walking along the street by himself on September 24, local news website Scol.com.cn reported on Friday.

Yi was then taken to a nearby abandoned house where his hands were tied behind his back and roped to his feet, so he was unable to walk. A clear plastic bag was then stuck over his head and tape used to seal it around his neck, with a slit cut so a straw could be pushed through into his mouth, the report said. He was then left lying on the floor.

However, when Yi heard his kidnapper leave the building he managed to hop from the room and eventually escape out onto the street.

The boy was reported as saying he had decided to escape by hopping from the building after seeing the same skills used in ganger films.

A passing motorist stopped to help Yi and the police were called.

Scol.com.cn reported that a suspect in the case had been arrested and police were still investigating the reason why the boy had been kidnapped.
