Drunk driver crashes car worth US$4 million in southwest China

A drunk driver has crashed a car worth 26 million yuan (HK$31 million) in southwest China, according to a news website report.

The man, aged 26, was driving a Koenigsegg Agera R when he crashed at just past midnight on Saturday in Chongqing, the website of the Guangming Daily said.

The car is made by a Swedish manufacturer and was one of only six special types of the model produced, according to the report.

The driver and a woman passenger were not badly hurt and were detained by the police, according to the report.

The newspaper said the driver may be the son of a company president.

Mechanics were quoted as saying that the car would have to be sent back to Sweden for repairs.
