Photographs of a lavish wedding in southern China have gone viral on social media, according to a newspaper report, prompting envious comments or people mocking the flaunting of wealth.
The wedding was held on Monday in Zhongshan in Guangdong province, the Southern Metropolis News said.
Some of the guests went to fetch the bride for the wedding in expensive sports cars, the newspaper reported.

The groom was dressed like an emperor from the Qin dynasty (221-207BC) while others male guests wore soldier’s uniforms based on designs from the Qing dynasty (1644-1911).

Photographs also showed the bride wearing at least forty gold bracelets round her neck, along with gold headdresses in her hair.

A guest was quoted as saying that the groom was in his 20s and originally from the Zhongshan area, but had moved to Macau.
“His family does business. They are very rich,” the guest was quoted as saying.
