A motorist who crashed and destroyed a Lamborghini sports car in eastern China said he lost control trying to avoid a cat, a newspaper reported.

The car was burned beyond recognition after the accident on Sunday in Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, the Hangzhou Daily said.

The driver, a man aged about 20, told traffic police it was raining and the road was slippery, according to the article.
