Flying solo: Chinese woman finds herself sole passenger on two-hour domestic flight
Fellow travellers transferred to other flights or simply gave up during 10-hour fight delay

A Chinese woman travelling from Wuhan to Guangzhou had a taste of being “filthy rich” before the Lunar New Year when she was the only passenger on her homebound flight on Monday, the Beijing Youth Daily reported on Tuesday.
The woman, surnamed Zhang, was the only passenger aboard the two-hour China Southern Airlines Flight 2833, which took off in the early hours of Monday – 10 hours behind schedule.
Zhang posted photos showing only herself and flight attendants on the plane on Weibo, with the captions: “I’m the only one on the plane! Yes! Just myself as the passenger! And the whole crew! I feel filthy rich!”

As Zhang’s plane was delayed from 2:40pm on Sunday until 12:40am on Monday, most passengers had already changed to earlier flights.
According to the report, it is not rare for travellers to find themselves the sole passenger on some China Southern Airlines flights during the Spring Festival.
Extra flights are arranged to take workers from Guangzhou back home for the new year, while the demand for return flights to the major southern city is low.
