Sparkling! Hotel cleaner fired in China after guest finds her scrubbing tea cups with toilet brush
Nothing else would remove the stains, cleaner reportedly told her boss

A cleaner and a housekeeping manager have been fired from a Beijing hotel after a guest found the cleaner using toilet detergent and a brush to clean tea cups in the room, the Beijing Morning Post reported.
The customer, surnamed Guan, told the newspaper that he checked in at the hotel near Beijing West Railway Station while on a business trip on Wednesday.
Upon arriving at the hotel, the reception told him his room was being cleaned and asked him to wait for a moment. Guan said he would like to drop his luggage in the room first, so that he could have lunch, which the reception agreed, the report said.
When he entered the room, the cleaner was brushing the toilet bowl. A moment later, he saw the cleaner put the toilet bowl brush in the wash basin. Also in the basin were two sets of tea cups, soaked in blue liquid. A bottle of toilet detergent was placed next to the basin.
[The cleaner] said she resorted to using toilet detergent because she could not wash off the tea stains on the cups with ordinary detergent
Guan asked the cleaner why she had used the toilet brush to clean the cups, but the cleaner did not answer a word. When he complained to the reception, the receptionist allegedly told him the cleaner “would rinse clean” the cups, according to the report.
