Sleepwalking Chinese woman falls out of window ... but escapes unhurt after landing on canopy

A young woman in southern China escaped unscathed after she fell from her flat while sleepwalking, Chinese media reports.

The woman, who was not identified, was spotted in her pyjamas, sitting dazedly on a canopy on the second floor of her residential building in Jiangsu province’s Danyang city on Tuesday night, the Yangtze Evening News reported.

Rescuers found her trembling when they arrived.

“Freezing ... It’s freezing,” the shivering woman was quoted as saying.

She was believed to have fallen from the window of her flat on the third floor while sleepwalking, rescuers said.

A member of the rescue team climbed a ladder to reach the canopy and help the woman down, but she was too afraid to do so.

“I don’t dare move,” she told the rescuer.

Another rescuer eventually dragged her into the flat on the second floor through its window.

The woman was found totally unhurt from the incident, the report said.
