Chinese man, 70, writes letter to late wife each day for four years to overcome his sadness

An elderly Chinese man has written a daily letter in his diary to his late wife for the past four years to help him overcome his sadness and loneliness since her death, mainland media report.
The unnamed man, 70, from Ningbo, in Zhejiang province, who has now written more than 1.5 million words, said he sought salvation from writing down his feelings after losing interest in living after his wife of 45 years had died in 2012, the Ningbo Evening News reported.
Only after she died did I realise that I still had lots of things to say to her
He started off writing 1,000 words per day, but gradually the length of his letters grew to more than 2,000 per day.
His wife died of cancer soon after her diagnosis, the report said.
“Only after she died did I realise that I still had lots of things to say to her,” he told the newspaper.
Every day the man gets up at about 5am each day and, after two hours spent exercising outdoors, he dedicates the rest of this time to writing to his late wife.
