Chinese nurse beaten and kicked on the ground by angry father of patient

A man has been arrested in southern China for allegedly assaulting a nurse because he was angry over the care she was giving his son, a newspaper reported.

The man had taken his child to a hospital in Haikou in Hainan on Monday to have an intravenous drip, the Southern Metropolis News reported.

He asked the nurse to remove the needle after the treatment, but she told him to turn off the drip himself while she carried out another duty, the article said.

He became angry and beat and kicked her on the ground, the report said.

He allegedly did not stop until security guards at the hospital arrived.
