Chinese drunk motorist caught after driving wrong way down road and crashing into two cars

Police said man had drunk two bottles of spirits and six of wine

A man who had drunk two bottles of spirits and six of wine drove the wrong way down a road in central China and crashed into two other cars.

Nobody was seriously injured, but the man was arrested and banned from applying for a driver’s licence for five years, police said in a statement.

The crashes happened after the man was driving to Loudi in Hunan province on Tuesday after drinking with four friends at lunchtime in Ningxiang county.

He realised he was going the wrong way, did a U-turn and started driving into oncoming traffic before colliding with two cars.

One driver was slightly hurt.

The man refused to give a breath test and police had to take him to hospital to have a blood test. A box of alcohol was later found in the boot of his Audi, police said.
