Chinese boy, 11, attends school as usual after ‘strangling girl, 7, and moving her body’
A boy in central China went to school and played as usual after he allegedly strangled a younger girl he had a disagreement with earlier this month, Beijing Times reports.
The girl, who was known by the nickname Beibei, went missing on September 15 in Changde, Hunan province, after leaving her home with an 11-year-old boy, surnamed Xiong, who lives in the same community.
The family of the girl began searching for her and notified the police she was missing, and they used dogs and drones in the search.
A week later, the Changde police posted a notice on their official Weibo account saying they had found the girl’s body near the Sangchang community and had identified a suspect.
The police told Beibei’s mother the girl punched Xiong after an argument and he strangled her on a sofa at his home,then dragged her body to the third floor and pushed it onto a neighbouring first floor balcony.
However, the girl’s family raised doubts over the results of the police investigation.
The girl’s mother questioned whether an 11-year-old boy could have done that and appeared unperturbed as he had gone to school as usual while the search for Beibei was taking place.
The police account said their investigation showed the girl was choked to death by Xiong after a scuffle between the two.
A local police officer confirmed the suspect in the killing was a boy and said there was no adult involved, according to the report.
