Lights, sound and Tsingtao beer ... stunning display opens in eastern China to promote famous brewery
A “forest” of more than 30,000 beer bottles has opened to the public in an eastern Chinese city that’s home to the country’s most famous brewery.
Thousands of tree-like structures have been erected and decked out with plastic beer bottles in a waterfront park in Tangdao Wan in Qingdao, Shandong province, according to People’s Daily.
The 200-square-metre “beer bottle forest”, which opened on Sunday, is a new landmark aimed at promoting Tsingtao Brewery to the world.
The brewery, headquartered in Qingdao, is China’s second largest brewery and it produces the Tsingtao beer.
The brewery was founded by German settlers in 1903. Qingdao is a former German colony.
China’s biggest brewery is CR Snow, headquartered in Beijing, which produces Snow Beer.
Qingdao’s “beer bottle forest” features a light and sound show in the evenings, with special lighting effects projected on the beer bottles and tree-like structures to simulate the movement of sea waves and beer foam, complete with background music.
