More than 20 young people were detained while preparing to take part in a gang fight in southwest China.

Details of the planned clash came to light during another police investigation into an assault, the local government in Liangshan prefecture in Sichuan province said on its social media account.

Officers said suspects were trying to recruit more than 20 people in Xichang in the prefecture to take part in a brawl.
