Video goes viral in China of three foreign vandals spray-painting Beijing and Shanghai subway trains
Authorities say two-minute video of culprits attacking subway carriages, and cutting security fence, which sparked huge interest this week, was filmed in 2013
Chinese transport officials have responded to an online video that went viral this week showing three foreigners vandalising Beijing and Shanghai subway trains and taunting a security guard, mainland media reported.
The two-minute video – believed to have been posted by the three suspects to flaunt their exploits – shows the three young men cutting through station garage fences, spraying carriages with paint and taunting a security guard, the news portal Thepaper.cn reported on Monday.
In the Shanghai subway they are shown using pliers to cut through fences to enter the train garage.
Officials at Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport said the video showed incidents that had taken place in 2013.
The three people featured in the video had since fled back to Europe, the Legal Evening Daily reported, without giving further details.
