Six people were injured when explosions ripped through two public buses in separate incidents in Foshan, Guangdong province, on Wednesday afternoon.

Nanhai district police received a call at around 3.30pm about a blast in a rubbish bin on a bus, Shanghai-based news portal reported.

All four passengers on the vehicle suffered minor injuries and the explosives were believed to have been planted on board the bus.

Another explosion was reported 45 minutes later on another bus in Nanhai, with two injured.

Preliminary reports suggested the twin blasts were caused by explosives. Investigations were continuing, the report said.
