Clever or plain lazy? Chinese student’s bedsheet food delivery system sparks debate
Photographs of a university student in eastern China using bedsheets to haul a food delivery to her sixth floor dormitory have gone viral on the internet.
Many people said they were shocked by how lazy young people in China appeared to have become.
The woman at Henan University of Technology in Zhengzhou was spotted hauling up the food last week using bedsheets tied together.
Another woman at the college was then inspired to pick up her food delivery by lowering a bucket attached to a long cable.
One person wrote on social media: “Look at how the cancer of laziness has spread all over the younger generation.”
But others expressed sympathy for the students, saying the lack of lifts in many Chinese colleges was the root of the problem.
It is not the first time similar devices have grabbed the attention of the media in China
A student at the Communication University of China in Nanjing, eastern Jiangsu province, also used a pulley system to pick up food deliveries from the ground floor, the People’s Daily reported.
