Pig washed away 20km in mudslide, downpours in China
Fire brigade help bring the animal home two days after it went missing, according to media reports
Firemen in eastern China have helped get a 150 kg pig home safely after it was washed away in a mudslide and torrential rains over the weekend, Chinese media reported.
The pig went missing for two days after heavy rain lashed Xiushui county in Jiangxi province, the news website News.qq.com reported.
The farmer who owned the pig eventually found it near a river about 20km from his village.
He said his farm was hit by a mudslide on Saturday and scores of pigs were swept away in the heavy rains.
The fire brigade agreed to help transport the pig after the farmer said it was injured and it would be difficult to get it back home in his boat, according to the article.
The pig was scratched and bruised and was probably injured by branches as it was swept away in the downpour.
