Six people were injured last week when a car smashed into an SUV that was trying to reverse along an expressway in eastern China, state media reported.

Footage from a surveillance camera shows a white vehicle stopped just beyond a turn off on the Shanghai-Chongqing Highway in Anhui province about 7pm on Saturday, Cctvplus.com reported on Thursday. The SUV appears to have its reversing lights on but isn’t moving.

Moments after one car is seen swerving to avoid the stationary vehicle, a second ploughs straight into the back of it, sending both vehicles spinning across the road.

Six people were taken to hospital, though none suffered life-threatening injuries, the report said.
