Wild boar causes chaos in Chinese hospital, injuring one woman
Dozens of police needed to trap the animal inside the building in Jiangsu province, according to media reports
A woman was injured protecting a child after a wild boar got into a hospital in eastern China, according to media reports.
Dozens of police were called and finally managed to catch the animal in the medical complex in Nanjing in Jiangsu province, Jiangsu TV reported.
Doctors alerted the emergency services after the boar was spotted in the building on Wednesday.
The animal knocked over one child inside the hospital complex and bit the leg of a cleaner who tried to protect the youngster, according to the news website Rmzxb.com.cn.
She had to receive medical treatment for her injuries, the report said.
Police officers took some time to trap the animal and finally brought it under control with a piece of rope, Jiangsu TV reported.
The animal will be handed over the city health authorities, the report said, without elaborating.
A wild boar had been spotted in a nearby park the day before.
A boar was also seen in a residential compound in the same district of the city a month ago and it was shot dead by police.
