A senior urban management official in central China has been fired after his wife was filmed apparently assaulting a pregnant nurse who was treating the couple’s child.

The nurse said she was attacked by the mother of a four-year-old boy as she was trying to give the youngster an injection at a hospital in Tongshan county, Hubei province, on Friday, local newspaper Chutian Metropolis Daily reported.

In a video circulated online, the two women are seen scuffling and the mother appears to pull the nurse’s hair.

The 38-year-old medic, who was about six weeks pregnant at the time, collapsed on the floor as a result of the assault and required hospital treatment for a threatened miscarriage.

She was quoted as saying that the child’s mother became angry after the nurse told the child to stop moving his arms while preparing him for his jab.
