Man admits unlawful sex with girl, 15

Austin Chiu

A man who had sex with his 15-year-old adopted sister when his wife was pregnant was described by a judge yesterday as "worse than a beast".

The 29-year-old, whose name was withheld to protect the victim's identity, pleaded guilty in the Court of First Instance to six counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 16.

The victim, adopted from the mainland by the defendant's mother, was aged 15 at the time of the crimes between September 2010 and October last year.

"How is your behaviour different from that of a beast?" Ms Justice Maggie Poon Man-kay asked the man.

"In fact there is a difference - you are worse than a beast."

Sentencing was adjourned to September 11. The judge ordered psychological, psychiatric and background reports on the man, the son of a construction firm owner. He was remanded in custody.

Poon also called for an impact report on the victim, who is now living in a Social Welfare Department shelter.

The court heard that in September 2010, the defendant asked the victim to massage his legs in a storeroom of the Mong Kok flat where he, his family and the victim lived together.

While his mother was sleeping in the flat, the man started touching the girl intimately, then had sex with her without using a condom. The victim told police the defendant gave her HK$100 and asked her not to tell anyone what had happened.

On another occasion, after the victim had finished cleaning the office of the defendant's father's construction firm, the man asked her to take a shower. He then had sex with her in an office. On January 10 last year, after having sex with the victim in the storeroom at home, the defendant asked her to make a soup for his pregnant wife. The pair then visited the wife in hospital together.

The court heard that not long after the defendant's second son was born, he drove the victim to a secluded wood near a construction site where they had sex in the car.

On October 24, the defendant slapped the victim after she ate some food without his or his mother's permission.

He then told the victim to go to the storeroom to give him a massage. He also asked her to perform a sex act on him before again having sex with her without using a condom.

The crimes came to light when the victim told a school friend she feared she was pregnant. A social worker at the school called police.
