10/10 Hope opens in HK's Eslite bookstore
Taiwan's natural and organic store 10/10 Hope has opened its first outlet in Hong Kong.
Located in the Eslite book store at Causeway Bay's Hysan Place, it carries 11 beauty and health brands from seven countries.
The shop opened its doors for media preview on Tuesday, where guests were introduced to the different brands and its signature products.
Highlights include British skincare brand Neal's Yard Remedies, The Laundress - an American brand specialising in chemical-free detergents for different fabrics - and Uka, which has brought over its roll-on nail oils from Japan.
Swedish brand Sachajuan and US brand Christophe Robin are both known for their hair products, while Malin+Goetz - also from America - produces unisex skincare products.
Maureen Locke-Maclean, managing director of Australian aromatherapy brand Anoint, was present to help guests try some of her oils and herbal teas.
She flew to Taiwan to train the staff there earlier this month, before coming to Hong Kong for the shop's opening.
"What we're seeing in Hong Kong - especially with women we've been talking to - is stress from working long hours and pollution," said Locke-Maclean.
"Your skin is the largest organ in your body, so when things are not right within yourself, it comes out on your skin"
By judging a person's skin and asking questions relating to habits and feelings, Locke-Maclean said she can discover problem areas.
Then she can choose from a range of 10 chakra essential oils to counter the imbalance.
Next time you visit Eslite, why not drop in on 10/10 Hope and see what they have to say about your body?
Locke-Maclean won't be there - she flew back to Australia yesterday - but she's already trained a couple of staff here.
And, unlike Locke-Maclean, they probably won't be pulling up your shirt and rubbing the essential oils onto your belly right in front of the book-buying public.
I was given a "No 2", which deals with key issues such as relationships, honour and money, says the brochure.
