Stars turn out to Adidas' Crew Love Party at AsiaWorld-Expo
The crowd on the Airport Express was more youthful and fashionable than usual, prompting double-takes from bedraggled air travellers as pop lovers headed to the AsiaWorld-Expo for Adidas' Crew Love Party.
Anthony Wong Yiu-ming took the stage first on Wednesday night, rocking in a white, pink and gold leopard-print tracksuit.
He also set a sombre mood with a powerful ballad and a duet with Ellen Loo Hoi-tung.
Backstage, Wong explained his song choices. He said: "Originally, we prepared some very uptempo numbers for tonight, but after what happened [the Lamma ferry tragedy] we changed one song.
"We sang one romantic song and one song that was full of hope, love and care."
Eason Chan Yik-shun was the star of the show and in his usual high spirits, suited up in bright-red Adidas warm-ups with rainbow ruffles.
He stood on a chair striking poses while clowning around backstage.
He explained what it meant to be a Hong Kong artist performing and selling music on the mainland.
"I have a song on my album about what's happening in the world - riots and all that," he said.
"It's not included on the China album … This is something I really treasure as a Hong Kong singer.
"I still have the freedom to release an album and not need censorship, but in China …
"I think it's a fair deal. It takes time. We had been a colony for a long time and now we're adapting to going back to the motherland. It's all good."
