Canto-pop king Eason Chan Yik-shun had been itching to get Alan Tam Wing-lun on board when he recorded the song Heavy Flavour, which is a tribute to the veteran crooner.

His dream came true when Tam agreed to sing along with him on a remixed version of the song, which was inspired by Tam's 1980s hits.

"Alan has always been so nice to aspiring singers like myself," Chan said. "I still remember the first time I met him. It was backstage while we were filming a TV segment. He came up to me and offered me encouragement. I was so thrilled. Even today, he always helps people as much as he can."

The boys had a lot of fun recording with producer Eric Kwok. Each time they sang the line "you are my idol", Chan pointed a finger at Tam.

Chan's new album, titled ...3mm Remix, and featuring the song he recorded with Tam, will be released next month.
