Court grants CY's poll expenses correction
The Court of First Instance yesterday granted Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying's application to amend the return of his election expenses owing to minor typographical errors and miscalculations, which it found had not been made in bad faith. Leung changed his reported election expenses from HK$11.31 million from HK$11.9 million.
Non-official Exco members score poorly
Exco convenor Lam Woon-kwong was the only one of 14 non-official Executive Council members who scored more than 50 points out of 100 in the latest University of Hong Kong public opinion poll, which surveyed 1,000 people. Lam scored 55.9 points, followed by Anna Wu Hung-yuk on 49.8.
Bocavirus infections spotted at border
Four cases of bocavirus infection were spotted at checkpoints on the Shenzhen side of the border last month, including in a Hong Kong baby, Xinhua reported. Bocavirus can cause lower respiratory tract infections and gastroenteritis. The Department of Health will ask the Shenzhen Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau for details.
There was no winner of the first prize in last night's draw. The numbers were 15, 17, 21, 22, 27 and 36. The extra number was 16. Some 2.5 tickets won the second prize of HK$993,630. Third prize paid HK$58,620.
