Mid-Levels property launch turns into house party

The launch of a residential property rarely attracts entertainment reporters, but 39 Conduit Road's cocktail party was a different matter.

Perhaps enticed by the Mid-Levels apartment's interiors, designed by stylish Italian label Armani/Casa, celebrities such as Canto-pop singer Chung Chun-to (aka Kenny Bee) and model Irene Wang Yuen-yuen came to check out the new addition to the market.

The property, developed by Henderson Land Development, also drew a string of socialites such as Candy Law and Pat Fok to check out the property.

To emphasise the property's opulence, models wearing diamond jewellery totalling 1,000 carats glided down a runway, while award-winning local magician Louis Yan wowed guests with his illusions. Chung also took to the stage and performed a few of his hits.

Stealing the spotlight, however, was Henderson Land general manager Thomas Lam Tat-lan, whose relationship with veteran singer Cally Kwong Mei-wan was revealed earlier this week.

The shy businessman would only say he was happily in love and hoped he would be allowed some privacy.
