Christmas is only just on the horizon but family fun is already on the way. The Nutcracker on Ice is coming to town next month at the Academy for Performing Arts' Lyric Theatre.

The show will be performed by the Imperial Ice Stars - 26 veteran skaters who have won medals at Olympic, European and national competitions.

Artistic director Tony Mercer said ice skating gave the classic story a new lease of life.

"Not only does the tale have some beautiful romantic adagios with lifts and jumps, but the exotic divertissements from Spain, China, Arabia and Russia … introduce some gymnastics, flying, acrobatics, magic and special effects," he said.

CitySeen has two pairs of A-Reservation tickets (worth HK$750 each) to give away. To win, tell us in 50 words or less what your favourite Christmas gift is and why.
