Chief executive Leung Chun-ying and his family moved into Government House yesterday after an internal refit that cost HK$4.9 million, substantially less than the HK$14.5 million spent by predecessor, Donald Tsang Yam-kuen. The Chief Executive's Office said that the work had been done to meet the "modest and conservative" needs of the Leungs. A further HK$9.95 million had been spent on preservation work for the 157-year-old mansion.

Law Wing-chung, a journalist at , will be appointed political assistant to Financial Secretary John Tsang Chun-wah, possibly as early as tomorrow. Tse Shu-Chun, retired police regional commander of New Territories South, will become a political assistant with the Security Bureau.
