The Communications Authority fined Hong Kong Broadband Network HK$300,000 over its "1000M" broadband service advertisement, which it found to be misleading. The ad gave the impression users would get an internet transmission speed of 1,000 megabits per second, but it was simply the maximum speed achievable locally. The maximum speed possible for overseas connections was just 20Mbps, or 2 per cent of that claimed in the ad.
Immigration officers arrested nine illegal workers and their five suspected bosses on Monday. The workers - four men and five women - were caught in raids on 11 sites, including restaurants and wet markets, over 11 hours. One of the workers had a Hong Kong identity card believed to have been forged.
The chairman of the Legislative Council's finance committee, Tommy Cheung Yu-yan, has scheduled a six-hour meeting to scrutinise the proposed HK$2,200-a-month old-age allowance on Friday.

There was no winner of the first prize in last night’s draw. The numbers were 1, 6, 8, 28, 37 and 39. The extra number was 42. The second prize of HK$943,930 was won by 1.5 tickets. Third prize paid HK$44,680.
