Santa on the beach inspires wave of support for charity
Young and old put on their Santa hats and head to Repulse Bay to generate a HK$240,000 wave of support for 18 good causes

Santa Claus and the beach may seem an unlikely combination, but put together they made a day of fun games that raised funds for the underprivileged.
Operation Santa Claus' 25th anniversary special event, "Santa on the Beach", was held at Repulse Bay Beach yesterday.
Eight teams of corporate staff and celebrities competed against each other in creative games, while children from the campaign's beneficiaries also joined in the fun.
The event raised HK$240,000 for the campaign.
"Every year we try to find new ways to raise money. But it's not about standing in busy streets holding out donation boxes and hoping for the best," said Anne Wong, strategic marketing director for the South China Morning Post.
"Operation Santa Claus is a charity that's deeply involved in the Hong Kong community, and community participation in fun events that raise money for people in need is what it's all about."
This year, Operation Santa Claus, jointly organised by the Post and RTHK, is raising funds for well-deserving projects of 18 beneficiaries helping the disabled, the elderly, sick children and others.
