A 21-year-old woman was arrested for suspected animal cruelty after five cats, one of them dead, were found cooped up in three metal cages near her home in San Sang Tsuen, near Tin Shui Wai. SPCA vets are treating the cats. Meanwhile, hundreds of people marched from Central to the government headquarters, demanding action and harsher penalties for animal cruelty cases.
More than 10 groups marched from Wan Chai to the Admiralty government headquarters, urging Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying to address long-term poverty relief in his policy speech on Wednesday.
