Six arrested over murder of Hong Kong boy, 15, found floating in sea
Tsang Ming-sze, 15, went missing after he left his Tseung Kwan O home on August 8
Police have arrested six people in connection with the death of a 15-year-old boy whose body was found floating in waters off Tseung Kwan O in August.
Tsang Ming-sze, 15, went missing after he left his Tseung Kwan O home on August 8.
A male body was found floating in the sea off Lohas Park Road on August 11, but it was not possible to immediately identify him because his facial injuries were so severe. A DNA test later confirmed it was Tsang.
Police said yesterday that post-mortem examinations had been conducted but the cause of death is yet to be ascertained.
"Initial enquiries revealed that the deceased had been assaulted and later thrown into the sea," a police spokeswoman said.
Four males and two females, aged 16 to 34 and all believed to be in the Sun Yee On triad, were arrested in Tseung Kwan O and Chai Wan in the past two days. A police source said one of the girls, 16, allegedly told the gang leader, 34, Tsang had called her a slut. He allegedly rounded up the others and they beat up Tsang on Wan Poon Path on August 8. They then allegedly took him to a spot near Lohas Park Road where they struck his head with rock and dumped him in the sea.
Two officers were hurt while making the arrests and other suspects were being sought. The six suspects are being questioned.
