US$130,000 cowhides missing from terminal

About US$130,000 worth of cowhides have been reported stolen from a container terminal in Tsing Yi. A truck driver, 45, arrived at the Tsing Yi Hong Wan Road container terminal to pick up a consignment on Sunday, but found four empty cartons.

Anita Mui's mother sued for unpaid rent

The mother of late Canto-pop singer Anita Mui Yim-fong is being sued for HK$93,600 in unpaid rent and interest. Landlord Happy Aim claims in a High Court writ that Tam Mei-kam, 88, has not paid the HK$30,000 monthly rent for her Happy Valley flat since November.

Lawmaker prepared to risk his licence

Democrat lawmaker Albert Ho Chun-yan said he was ready to engage in civil disobedience at the cost of his lawyer's licence to join the proposed Occupy Central campaign in 2014 to push for universal suffrage in the chief executive's election in 2017.
