Still can't get your hands on Lufsig the wolf? Fans of the cuddly symbol of protest can instead try an online game in which the toy fights Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying.
The "C.Y. & Lufsig" internet game had attracted 140,000 hits from 53,000 users by last night after being launched on Friday, developer Andy Li Yu-hin said.
In the game, which looks a little like arcade classic Pac-Man, Leung gains points by eating little white dots while evading Lufsig.
Li will add more elements next week, including a representation of fruit-throwing lawmaker "Long Hair" Leung Kwok-hung. His team will also work on a mobile app for the game.
The 23-year-old worked with partners Jeffrey Law Wai-yee and David Lam Wing-wai to finish the game in two days. Despite its simplicity, it is the team's most successful game so far.
Lufsig has sold out at Ikea stores in Hong Kong and some mainland cities since one was thrown at the chief executive last week. Leung has been characterised as an untrustworthy "wolf" and the fact the original translation of Lufsig's name used in mainland stores sounded like an obscene phrase in Cantonese added to the popularity of the toy.
The web address used by Li's team is based on the translated name, since changed by Ikea due to the "unfortunate" coincidence. The toy, depicting the wolf from Little Red Riding Hood poised to devour grandma, has been featured by international media since being adopted by protesters - while Leung himself was pictured with one of the toys.
