The Hong Kong Observatory dropped a thunderstom warning it had issued earlier on Tuesday as an area of unsettled weather approaching the territory moved away. The recent hot weather is however set to continue.

“Intense thundery showers” over inland Guangdong were moving southward and may have affected Hong Kong “in the next few hours”, a message issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at 7.30am said on Tuesday. The warning was taken down several hours later.

The weather would remain hot through the afternoon with the maximum temperature reaching 32 degrees Celsius, the weather station reaffirmed

The city would be affected by mostly cloudy conditions with a few showers, and an average temperature of 31 degrees would be maintained for the rest of the week, according to the Observatory
