Senior reporter Lana Lam won an excellence award in the best scoop category for her interview with the former National Security Agency contractor published a year ago today.
She also won an excellence award in the best news reporting category for the series of stories that followed at the prestigious Society of Publishers in Asia Editorial Awards dinner at the Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai.
The was the only news organisation in Asia to interview Snowden as he hid out in Hong Kong after disclosing details of a mass US surveillance programme, which included the hacking of computers in Hong Kong and on the mainland.
Snowden left the city for Moscow on June 23 and is now in Russia, where he has been granted temporary asylum. Today for the first time the reveals some of the details about how it secured the interview with Snowden and some of the drama behind one the year's biggest stories.
