Seven vehicle pile-up in Tseung Kwan O forces road closure

Seven vehicles were involved in a pile-up on a road linking Tseung Kwan O and Kowloon this morning, forcing the closure of the eastbound lanes.

Seven vehicles were involved in a pile-up on a road linking Tseung Kwan O and Kowloon this morning, forcing the closure of the eastbound lanes.

Four people suffered minor injuries in the accident that took place around 6.30am on Tseung Kwan O Tunnel Road.

The vehicles included three taxis, three lorries and one coach.

The accident occurred near an exit of the Tseung Kwan O Tunnel. It was not immediately clear how it happened.

As of 8.30am, all Tseung Kwan O-bound lanes of the road were closed. The Transport Department said traffic was backed up to Kwun Tong Police Station, some 5km away.
