Two Chinese women have been filmed stuffing live lobsters into a suitcase on an MTR train.

The pair were seen wrestling to get the shellfish inside a large holdall as they travelled from Sheung Shui to Lok Ma Chau.

One stunned onlooker, Lee Ming Fai, shared a video of the bizarre scene on Facebook.

He claimed to have witnessed the women packing up at least a dozen lobsters as their fellow passengers looked on at about 11.30am on Monday morning.

Some online commentators have speculated that the shellfish were being smuggled to mainland China, where they can be sold on for a tidy profit, particularly during the Lunar New Year holiday.
