Grappa’s to go: beloved Italian diner to make way for new blood
Swire has offered owners new location nearby, but decision hasn’t been made
Grappa’s Ristorante is to close in July, despite last-ditch efforts to save the cherished Italian diner from the axe, landlord Swire Properties has confirmed.
Swire said it invited El Grande Concepts to submit proposals for a fresh restaurant concept in the existing premise and elsewhere in Pacific Place, but the group “did not take up the offer.” The restaurant’s fate was sealed at a meeting earlier tonight.
The popular Italian diner has been offered a relocation option outside the mall, in a “nearby” Swire-run location.
Grappa’s management hasn’t yet agreed to the new place, the property firm said.
Bread Street and BLT Burger owners Dining Concepts will take over the space with a restaurant later in the year.
