Missionaries follow a strict schedule. From Tuesday to Saturday, they are required to get up at 7am before spending their day participating in various religious activities, often focused on trying to convert people to the church.

Throughout their mornings, they are required to study scripture and discuss with their partners how they intend to encourage others to join the church. They will also spend an hour learning a local language, generally Cantonese.

After lunch, they will normally spend their afternoons teaching potential converts about the faith, participating in community projects and trying to convince people to join the church. In the evenings, they have just one hour for dinner.

They must return to their living quarters by 9.30pm to pray and write their diaries before going to bed by 11pm.

Sundays are generally spent at church and then later at home, where they continue their general studies.
