Equipment fault causes one-hour delay on Hong Kong MTR line to Tung Chung
Trains were operating at 30-minute intervals but services have since resumed
Train operations are gradually resuming on Hong Kong MTR’s Tung Chung Line after equipment failure on a train disrupted services to Lantau for over an hour on Monday morning.
At about 10.35am, the MTR said the faulty train was removed from the line, and that the glitch mostly avoided the morning rush.
The disruption also caused trains to operate at 12-minute intervals between Hong Kong and Sunny Bay station – the interchange station for the Disneyland Resort Line.
Trains between Hong Kong and Tung Chung stations were operating at 30-minute intervals.
The MTR arranged free shuttle bus services for commuters between Tsing Yi and Tung Chung stations during the affected time period.
