Family of missing kung fu stuntman appeals to Hong Kong public for help

The family of a 31-year-old kung fu stuntman who has been missing for four days is appealing to the Hong Kong public to come forward with any information regarding his mysterious disappearance.

Li Bo-lun, a stuntman who works at Ngong Ping 360 cable car company on Lantau Island, was last seen by colleagues on the evening of June 4. He has since lost contact with family and friends.

After being informed by Li’s supervisor on June 5 that he had not shown up for work, the family made a missing person police report.

In a Facebook post by Li’s mother Amy Lee, the stuntman was said to have been wearing a black coat, a pair of black sports pants, red sports shoes, and a black cap with a golden “D” emblazoned on its front. He was also carrying a grey backpack.

Li’s passport was at home but the family was not sure if he took his mainland China travel permit, which would have allowed him to cross the border, according to his mother.

A spokeswoman for Ngong Ping 360 said Li was an employee of the Hong Kong Professional Performing Arts Centre, a production company that operates daily shows under the cable operator’s Stage 360. The project mainly features films with kung fu themes.

Li’s frequented areas are Mong Kok and Shek Kip Mei in New Kowloon, according to his mother.

“We want to appeal to the public to come forward if they have any clues on the whereabouts of my son,” she said in the Facebook post.

Father Li Kwok-keung told the Post that they were waiting for his son’s Hong Kong entry and exit records from the police, adding that they knew nothing about the 31-year-old’s current status or whether he was in danger.

“No news is good news at the moment,” he said.
