A mother and two children, including a two-year-old boy, were injured after a chunk of false ceiling measuring five to six metres long came crashing down at the MTR Corporation’s PopCorn shopping centre in Tseung Kwan O on Thursday night.
The accident occurred at about 6.45pm right outside a ground-floor exit of Tseung Kwan O MTR station and beside jewellery chain Chow Tai Fook.

Police said the mother, 30, and the children were taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital.

The two-year-old boy was reportedly hit in the forehead by debris.

Police cordoned off the area for investigation. Pictures circulating on social media showed white shattered debris strewn across the floor of the shopping centre as curious onlookers and commuters squeezed through the narrower MTR exit. A lone pram could be seen in the area.
