Hong Kong is braced for three days of rainy and unsettled weather, with sunny periods and showers forecast for Thursday’s public holiday, according to the Observatory.

Today’s weather will remain cloudy with a few rain patches. This will be followed by thundery showers in the following couple of days, the Observatory said.

The unsettled weather was brought about by a low pressure trough, the Observatory said. It was expected to improve from Thursday when rain turns to sunny intervals with showers.

Thursday is an additional statutory holiday and general holiday this year to mark the 70th anniversary of Japan’s surrender in the second world war.
