Hong Kong tutor molested girl on pretence of explaining English words to her

A retired schoolteacher who molested a teenage girl he was tutoring on the pretence of explaining to her the difference between "breast" and "chest" was yesterday jailed for three months.
Sha Tin Court previously heard that the mother of the victim, who was identified as "X" for legal reasons, still referred students to 65-year-old Augustine Chan Tack-hing even after she was aware of the attacks.
At the time of the attacks, the victim was 16 years old.
Passing sentence, Deputy Magistrate Jolie Chao Tsz-kwan said: "While she is forgiving, I must say the impacts on the victim … are serious."
"This case involved a serious breach of trust. As a tutor, you exploited your position to indecently assault a relatively young victim."
Chan, represented by veteran criminal barrister Cheng Huan SC, pleaded not guilty to two counts of indecent assault.
The court heard that in March, 2012, Chan - who once taught at elite schools Wah Yan College, Hong Kong and Good Hope School - touched the teenager's breasts for three seconds at her home when he explained the difference between "chest" and "breast".
