A former tutorial school boss arranged for renovation workers to go to a woman's home as a practical joke and yelled dirty words at the brother of a former student, a court heard yesterday.

Luk Chi-wing, 50, pleaded not guilty to six charges, including fraud and offences related to telephone calls, before Kwun Tong Deputy Magistrate Vennie Chiu Wai-yee.

Giving evidence as prosecution witness, interior design company owner Chan Man-ying said she received a call from a man on June 17 last year, asking her to take measurements at a Yuk Ming Court flat in Hang Hau for the purpose of renovation.

Chan said: "He gave me phone numbers of a Mrs Leung or Miss Chan. He asked me to go to the flat that night and not to notify the security guards."

Feeling suspicious, Chan searched the address online and found it was previously involved in another prank call court case. She then sent an email to police.

The following day, she received another call from the man, asking why she did not go the previous night.
