More student activists are facing arrests by appointment as police start to take action against those involved in the storming of government headquarters just before the Occupy protests began.

Among them are Joshua Wong Chi-fung, a key leader of Scholarism, and Alex Chow Yong-kang, former chief of the Federation of Students.

The two groups were behind the city-wide Occupy campaign last year, but the police are currently concerned about the protest which saw about 200 people breaking into Civic Square at the central government offices in Admiralty, two days before the start of the movement.

Current federation chief Nathan Law Kwun-chung and Scholarism member Derek Lam Shun-hin also received phone calls from the police's organised crime and triad bureau yesterday to appoint an arrest next week.

Wong, a university student, is facing an arrest on suspicion of organising and participating in an unauthorised assembly.

The three others said they were to be arrested for participation in the assembly.
